| Victorian Tea |
 This past weekend, Newtown Savings sponsored the Victorian Tea to benefit Newtown Youth and Family Services. The Tea is one of the highlights of Newtown's Holiday Festival. Pictured here is Maureen Birden, VP and Branch Manager of our Sand Hill Office. Maureen has been with the Bank for 36 years and has been volunteering at the Victorian Tea since 1995. We asked Maureen to share with us a few thoughts on being a part of this holiday event.
What are some of your favorite things about the tea? "The teamwork from year to year--it's so electric. I have customers and family who help and the Newtown Savings team is just the best."
What is something funny that has happened over the years? "Oh that's easy. About 4 or 5 years ago, we went in to set up like normal the morning of the tea---and there was NO stove. We never noticed it on Saturday when we were setting up. So we ran to Wal-Mart and bought two hot plates which we used and pulled it off."
Tell me a little about Newtown Youth and Family Services
"Newtown Youth and Family Services, Inc. is a licensed, non-profit, mental health clinic and youth service bureau dedicated to helping children and families achieve their highest potential. We provide programs, services, activities, counseling, support groups and education throughout the Greater Newtown area regardless of ability to pay." |

Good passwords are essential for PC security and they don't have to be hard to create or use. Passwords that were fine just a few years ago may now be vulnerable to attack. Hackers now have tools that can make thousands of guesses in seconds. Passwords that once might have taken months or years to crack can now be cracked in minutes or hours.
One suggestion is to use a "Passphrase" based on personal experiences, unrelated to anything in the public venue, and not in any dictionary.
Also, you may want to make your password complex with the use of lower-case, upper-case, numbers, as well as special characters. Finally, don't write down your password unless you plan to store it in a locked location that is separate from your account numbers, sign on names, and other personal identification. |

For others, live entertainment, holiday crafts, and kosher food will be enjoyed before the main event, the lighting of a huge snow Menorah.

When our Sound Tigers score their first goal, we'll all toss a teddy bear on the ice. The bears will be distributed to young children in the hospital. Please bring a new teddy bear for tossing. The Bank will sell a few bears at the game (all proceeds to charity) but our supply will be limited.
