Amplifying Our Impact

Each year, we receive numerous requests for financial support. While there are many worthwhile causes, in order to amplify our impact, we try to stay within our areas of focus:

Hands with heart and house roof above Affordable Housing
    Storefront Economic Development
    Stack of books Financial Education

We also prioritize organizations where our employees are actively volunteering, and focus our charitable giving on towns where we have branch locations, as well as neighboring communities.

Our Foundation

The Newtown Savings Bank Foundation is a Section 501(c)(3) organization that provides funding to nonprofits that support our local community. Operating on a fiscal year from October to September, we accept grant applications year-round to address community needs promptly.

The Foundation looks to support organizations that…
  • provide programs and services to our neighbors who demonstrate financial need
  • are based in towns within our market area or serve neighboring communities
  • focus on affordable housing, economic development, financial education, life skills, and/or vocational training initiatives
  • are innovative and design programs that provide sustainable solutions to issues impacting our community
