Early Pay Day FAQs

Early Pay Day lets you receive eligible direct deposits—like paychecks, Social Security benefits, or pension payments—up to two days earlier than your scheduled payday, depending on when we receive the payment file.
We post direct deposits as soon as we receive the payment instructions from your employer or benefits provider. Because some send their files earlier than your official payday, we can deposit your money sooner. You may receive your pay up to two days earlier, but timing varies and is not guaranteed.
No enrollment needed, this is an automatic feature if you have a direct deposit going into a Newtown Savings Bank personal checking, savings or money market account.

No. Early Payday is not guaranteed. We post your pay as soon as we receive the payroll file. If we receive it on your regular payday, your funds will be available then.

Direct deposit can take several pay periods. Once you establish recurring direct deposit with your employer and the funds are being sent to us, we will make your funds available up to two days early.
Payment timing depends on when employers send payroll files. Some employers submit files earlier than others, and timing may vary from pay period to pay period.
No. There is no fee to receive your pay early.
We recommend scheduling payments based on your regular payday, since early payday is not guaranteed.
Yes. Holidays may impact when payroll files are sent and processed, which can affect availability.
Aside from payroll deposits, Early Payday may also apply to direct deposits of government payments like a tax refund, unemployment benefits, Social Security, military and pension payments, and Advance Child Tax Credits, depending on the type of deposit and when we receive the direct deposit information.
*Early access to your paycheck is not guaranteed. We make funds available as soon as we receive your employer’s payroll file. File timing is determined by your employer or payroll provider, and not all employers submit files early. If we receive the file early, your pay may be available up to two days sooner. If we receive the file on your scheduled payday, funds will be available on your regular pay date. We do not advance funds.
